About Me
Originally from the coastal town of Albany in southwest Western Australia, my upbringing instilled a strong appreciation for the marine environment and its conservation, which led me to complete a Bachelor of Science majoring in Marine Biology. After graduating, I moved to Bremer Bay on the south coast, where I worked as a nursery and hatchery technician rearing abalone. I am currently undertaking a Master’s research project at The University of Western Australia, in collaboration with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), using deep-sea crab tag-recapture data to investigate growth rates, movement patterns, and population dynamics. This research aims to improve understanding of growth rates, movement dynamics, and stock assessments for the sustainable management of Western Australia’s deep-sea crab fishery. I am driven to apply my education, research experience, and practical skills to address key challenges in marine ecology, fisheries science, and the sustainable management of Western Australia’s marine resources.
